A strong new team will work on deepening British-Serbian mutual cooperation


The British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce has announced four new team members who will be working in the Belgrade office. The new team wiDavid Webb - Copyll consist of three new Directors with extensive and diverse experience of business in Serbia; Mr. David Webb, Mr. Nebojsa Cirjakovic, and Mr. Slavko Caric, who join existing Directors, Mr. Stephen Fish and Mr. Tahir Hasanovic, as well as Mr. Nebojsa Milicevic, the General Manager (Belgrade). The Belgrade-based team will work closely with the London team headed by Sir Paul Judge, the Chairman of the BritishSerbian Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. David Webb has been appointed as one of the new Directors of the Belgrade office of the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce. Webb is an expert in business and government in the Balkans, with twenty years of experience, since 1996, beginning at the Department of Trade & Industry in London. In 2001, he was appointed First Secretary in charge of Trade and Investment at the British Embassy in Belgrade, where he worked until 2006. At the end of 2007 he co-founded Webb Dowse, one of Serbia’s best-regarded corporate communications companies, working throughout the Western Balkans.

On this occasion Mr. David Webb said:

I was delighted to accept this opportunity to join the Chamber’s Belgrade team and share my experience of Serbia, as both diplomat and entrepreneur, with other businesses newer to the market. I am also especially excited that we will be working to assist Serbian firms with promoting their businesses in the United Kingdom, as I believe there are now many good, competitive companies here with the right products and services to prosper on the British market.

Mr. Nebojsa Cirjakovic is currently the Government Affairs Manager for Serbia and Montenegro, at British American Tobacco South East Europe. Mr. Cirjakovic stated:

Representing as I do the largest UK investor in Serbia, I am very pleased to be able to work with the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce. More than 60 companies from the United Kingdom currently have subsidiary companies or representative offices in Serbia, and many of them serving as regional centers for Southeast Europe – a clear indicator of the importance of the Serbian mSlavko Caric - Copyarket for the British economy – while hundreds more are present in the market though agents and distributors, or are engaged on project work in the country.”

Mr. Slavko Caric, the CEO of Erste Bank Serbia, completes the strong new team of Directors in Belgrade. Mr. Caric has a great knowledge of the Serbian business environment due to his long-standing experience within the investment banking and capital market in Serbia. He is also a Member of European Trilateral Commission and actively participates as a member of Trilateral Commission Serbian National Group.


Mr. Nebojsa Milicevic, the General Manager of the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce in Belgrade, commented further.

 “As General Manager of the Chamber, I’ll be working closely with my colleagues in Belgrade on establishing and strengthening mutual cooperation between British and Serbian companies. The British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce supports British companies seeking financial investors, strategic partners and new markets in Serbia, and also Serbian firms who wish to develop their business in the UK.” 

The British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce was established in 2009 with the aim of encouraging the development of bilateral trade between Serbia and the United Kingdom.
